Graduate Design Engineer

The Graduate Design Engineer programme is designed as a launchpad for graduates and early-career candidates. Over the course of 12 months, successful candidates will rotate through the entire design lifecycle under close mentorship, gradually building towards independent competence as a Designer. This structured programme aligns with university leaving dates and concludes with a qualifying exam-satisfactory completion and a pass are essential to progress to a Designer role., * Interpret fire strategies and customer specifications into working system designs, with support from senior team members.

• Write comprehensive technical design documentation.
• Produce and edit CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
• Conduct design calculations under supervision to validate designs.
• Collaborate effectively with senior designers, engineers, and clients.
• Attend design and project handover meetings to ensure seamless transitions.
• Support the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and project closeout documentation.

• Excellent time management abilities and capacity to juggle multiple live projects.

• Confidence in using Microsoft Office and Windows OS.

Requirements - Desirable:

• Prior knowledge of smoke control systems (mechanical or natural) and ventilation.
• Familiarity with fire detection and alarm systems.
• Exposure to HVAC or electrical building services.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD tools.
