Test Analyst (Computing/IT)

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out functional and system testing, identifying and documenting faults, validating software and system changes, and working closely with technical and project teams to ensure that systems meet defined operational and quality requirements before deployment., * Review system requirements, technical specifications and project requirements to determine appropriate testing activities.

• Prepare and execute structured test cases, test scenarios and testing checklists for software and IT systems.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression and post-deployment testing as required.
• Test software releases, updates, system configurations and associated hardware/software integrations.
• Validate system functionality following installation, configuration, upgrades or technical changes.
• Identify, reproduce, document and report software, hardware and system defects.
• Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting to support root-cause identification.
• Record test results accurately and maintain testing, defect and technical documentation.
• Log, monitor and track incidents and defects through appropriate ticketing or issue-management systems.
• Retest resolved defects and verify that corrective actions have been implemented successfully.
• Support software deployments, technology upgrades and system rollout activities.
• Perform post-installation and post-deployment validation to confirm system stability and functionality.
• Work with developers, engineers, project teams and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Support user acceptance and operational testing where required.
• Ensure testing activities are completed in accordance with project requirements, technical standards and agreed procedures.
• Provide clear progress updates and escalate critical defects or technical risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, technical documentation and quality-control procedures.

We are seeking a technically capable and detail-oriented Test Analyst (Computing/IT) to support the testing, validation and quality assurance of software applications, IT systems and associated technology infrastructure., * Previous experience in IT systems testing, technical support, software deployment, field engineering, systems implementation or a related computing/IT environment.

• Practical experience of testing and validating software and technology systems following installation, configuration or upgrade.
• Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and documenting technical faults.
• Experience working with software applications, computer hardware, networks and integrated IT systems.
• Experience of software updates, system configuration and deployment validation.
• Experience using ticketing or incident-management systems to record, monitor and escalate technical issues.
• Experience maintaining accurate test records, technical reports, installation records or system documentation.
• Experience working with technical teams, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Exposure to EPOS, retail technology, financial-services technology, network infrastructure or other distributed IT environments would be advantageous.
• Experience supporting multi-site technology deployments or system upgrade programmes would be beneficial.

Qualifications Essential

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, Mechatronics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Good understanding of computer systems, software applications, hardware and network infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical and testing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work systematically against defined requirements and testing procedures.

Desirable

• Previous training or certification in software testing, IT support, networking or quality assurance.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and the software development/testing lifecycle.
• Understanding of functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with defect tracking, ticketing and technical reporting tools.
• Knowledge of EPOS systems, network configuration, software deployment and IT infrastructure.
• Relevant technical, engineering or IT industry certifications.
