Job description
- Administer Microsoft 365 services and user accounts.
- Manage Active Directory users, groups, and permissions.
- Support Windows desktops, laptops, and business applications.
- Monitor system issues and investigate incidents.
- Carry out software updates, patches, and routine maintenance.
- Support basic network, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain IT hardware and software records.
- Assist with device deployment, replacements, and configuration.
- Manage access requests in line with company procedures.
- Support backup checks and routine system monitoring.
- Record incidents and completed work within the IT service desk system.
- Work with external suppliers when specialist assistance is required.
- Help maintain IT documentation and internal procedures.
- Support planned upgrades and system changes.
- Follow information security and data protection requirements., The position provides experience across systems administration, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management, networking, and IT operations. Further progression may include Senior Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or IT Infrastructure Manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience in systems administration or IT support.
- Good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
- Understanding of basic networking and connectivity.
- Familiarity with IT service desk or ticketing systems.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisation.
- Ability to manage routine tasks alongside technical issues.
- Good communication skills when working with users and colleagues.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant IT qualification or certification is beneficial but not essential.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
