Job description

The Business Operations Assistant (Digital & IT Support) supports the effective delivery of Inclusion Education’s digital systems, technology resources and user support services. The role ensures staff have access to equipment, systems and technical support, enabling them to deliver high-quality education and support services. Working closely with the Head of Business Operations, Heads of Service, and external IT providers, the postholder coordinates day-to-day IT support, device management, digital administration and asset control across all settings. The role contributes to operational efficiency, service continuity, compliance and the effective use of technology throughout the organisation., Managing People & Stakeholders

  • Deliver responsive service desk, digital and IT support to staff
  • Maintain effective relationships with Digital and IT suppliers and service providers
  • Support colleagues to make effective use of organisational systems and technology

Governance & Accountability

  • Maintain accurate records, asset registers, service agreements and support documentation.
  • Ensure technology resources are administered in line with organisational procedures.
  • Provide routine reporting to the Head of Business Operations and Operational Governance meetings.

Managing Risk

  • Support cyber security, data protection and safeguarding requirement
  • Identify, escalate and monitor technology-related risks and incidents
  • Maintain effective controls over technology assets and equipment

Innovation & Change Management

  • Support the planning and delivery of digital improvements, equipment deployments and system developments
  • Contribute to service improvements through testing, feedback and user support
  • Encourage effective adoption of organisational technology

Social Responsibility

  • Promote responsible, safe and inclusive use of digital technologies.
  • Support sustainable management of technology assets and resources

Linking operational leadership to business functions strategic aims

  • Contribute to efficient, compliant and effective operational delivery through digital support services
  • Support organisational objectives through reliable technology administration and continuous improvement., The role supports Inclusion Education’s commitment to placing wellbeing and mental health at the heart of education by ensuring staff have reliable access to systems, equipment and resources that enable them to focus on supporting young people. Through responsive support, effective administration and collaborative working, the postholder contributes to safe, efficient and well-managed learning environments.

The successful candidate will be required to work across provisions, ensuring consistent standards and service delivery throughout Inclusion Education.

Requirements

  • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • Relevant IT, business administration or digital support qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine technical issues and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Microsoft 365 and digital systems skills.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Microsoft 365 applications and workplace technology.
  • Cyber security, data protection and information security principles.
  • Providing IT, technology or systems support.
  • Working within an administrative or support function.
  • Liaising with suppliers or service providers.

Desirables

  • Level 3 qualification in IT, Digital Support, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Microsoft Fundamentals certification
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improving digital systems, processes and user experience
  • Ability to support and influence the successful adoption of new technology and organisational change
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites while analysing issues and implementing practical solutions.
  • Experience using helpdesk, ticketing or support management systems.
  • Experience supporting device deployment and user onboarding processes.
  • Education, charity or multi-site operating environments.
  • IT asset management and inventory control processes.
  • Technology lifecycle management and digital service delivery
  • Working within an education, charity or multi-site organisation.
  • Supporting IT asset registers, equipment inventories or digital improvement projects
