Do you enjoy solving problems, learning new skills, and making a positive difference to colleaguesÂ’ day to day digital experience?, WeÂ’re looking for an Associate End User Computing Engineer to join our Digital Service Desk team. In this role, youÂ’ll provide support to colleagues, resolving incidents and service requests across a range of technologies. YouÂ’ll support users both remotely and face to face, ensuring every interaction is professional, clear, and customer focused.
YouÂ’ll play an important role in delivering a high quality support service of incidents and requests, recording accurate diagnostic information, and working collaboratively with colleagues and escalation teams when needed. YouÂ’ll help ensure issues are resolved efficiently, users are kept informed, and service management processes are consistently followed.
This role is a great opportunity to build your technical skills and learn more about how IT services are managed. YouÂ’ll get hands-on experience with different end-user technologies, pick up best practices for delivering Digital support, and be part of a positive, customer-focused team. Requirements
You have a genuine interest in IT and supporting people, with some hands on experience or working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. Any exposure to technologies such as Microsoft Teams, Azure Active Directory, Intune, or Microsoft Surface devices would be beneficial, and experience with macOS or iPhone devices is an advantage but not essential.
Experience using a service management or ticketing tool (such as ServiceNow or similar) is desirable, along with a willingness to learn and work towards relevant certifications.
YouÂ’re a strong communicator, able to explain technical issues in a clear, friendly, and non technical way. You enjoy working as part of a team, stay calm under pressure, and take pride in delivering a positive customer experience.
Curious, collaborative, and motivated to learn, youÂ’re someone who enjoys helping others and wants to build a career within Digital Support. If youÂ’re looking to grow your skills and contribute to a supportive, customer focused Digital Support function, weÂ’d love to hear from you., A-levels, college diploma, or an IT-related course is helpful but not essential as they can provide a helpful foundation in knowledge and skills.
IT Knowledge
A strong interest in technology and IT is important for this role, along with a basic understanding of computers, laptops, and commonly used software such as Microsoft 365. Awareness of Microsoft devices, such as Surface laptops and tablets, would be beneficial but is not essential.
Skills
This role requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information in a clear and simple way that is easy for others to understand. A strong customer service mindset is essential, along with good problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn new skills. You should be able to follow guidance and structured processes, while also staying organised and managing tasks and priorities effectively.
Personal Qualities
You will be friendly and approachable, making it easy for others to ask for help. Being patient and understanding is important when supporting colleagues, especially when they may be unsure or frustrated. The role requires someone who is reliable and responsible, with a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and develop new skills. You should also be an excellent team player, able to work well with others and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Desirable Qualification
Desirable qualifications for this role include a qualification in IT, Digital Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject, or practical hands-on experience that demonstrates similar knowledge. It would be beneficial to have, or be willing to work towards, IT service management or technical certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Fundamentals (e.g. Microsoft 365 or Windows), or CompTIA.
Experience using a service management tool like ServiceNow to log, manage, and resolve incidents and service requests is also advantageous. In addition, the ability to clearly explain technical information to non-technical users and experience working collaboratively within a team, including knowing when to escalate issues, would be highly valued., Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard (opens in new window) checks.
