Job description

We are looking for one person to take ownership of that software and the operational data behind it. What you will do We have built our own pricing engine, process management engine and stock-grouping systems. They work, and they are held together by one person who also runs the company. Your job is to take that over and make it better. In your first six months you will clean up the operational data that drives our warehouse planning, build a system that automatically detects when a process has not been followed and chases the right person to fix it, and get our 69 standard operating procedures from a document library nobody opens into something the business actually uses. After that: connecting our inventory and accounting systems, building the competency matrix, and whatever the data tells us matters next. What we need

  • You can open a broken spreadsheet and find the error. Not “good at Excel” - genuinely fluent.
  • You can write and debug scripts. JavaScript or Python. You can read code you did not write.
  • You have worked in a real operating business - warehouse, logistics, finance, manufacturing, any sector. You know what a purchase order is.
  • You will ask a busy manager the same question a third time and get an answer.
  • You can explain a technical problem to someone on the warehouse floor without jargon.

Requirements

A computer science degree. Years of software engineering. We use Claude daily and expect you to as well - we are hiring for judgement, persistence and business sense, because those are the parts that cannot be automated., * Are you comfortable reading, writing and debugging scripts (such as JavaScript/Google Apps Script or Python), including code originally written by someone else?

Experience:

  • spreadsheet: 3 years (required)

Language:

  • English (required)

Benefits & conditions

How we will assess you A short screening call, then a paid 90-minute practical using our real data and real problems, then a conversation with our compliance lead. You will know exactly what the job is before you accept it, because you will have done a piece of it. Why it is worth your time You will own systems that the whole company depends on, with direct access to the CEO, in a business where the gap between a good idea and it being live is days. If you want to see your work change how a company operates rather than adding a feature to someone else’s product, this is that job.

Pay: £27,770.33-£40,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
