Job description
We are seeking a dedicated IT Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software systems across the organisation. The position is paid and ideal for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and technical support., * Provide desktop support for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Assist users with issues related to Microsoft Office applications, VPN connectivity, DNS, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Manage Active Directory accounts, including user account creation, permissions, and password resets.
- Utilise tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for incident management and asset tracking.
- Configure and support network components including LANs, TCP/IP settings, DNS servers, and VPN connections.
- Maintain documentation of support activities and escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
- Contribute to the optimisation of IT support processes by analysing recurring issues and recommending solutions.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of security measures such as firewalls and antivirus software to safeguard organisational data.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software troubleshooting?, * Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a strong understanding of computer networking principles.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows (client/server), macOS, and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of Active Directory management, Microsoft Windows Server administration, and BMC Remedy or ServiceNow ticketing systems.
- Experience troubleshooting software issues within Microsoft Office Suite and other enterprise applications.
- Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, LAN configurations, VPNs, and firewall management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Analytical skills for diagnosing hardware/software problems efficiently.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are advantageous but not essential. This role is suitable for proactive individuals eager to enhance their IT expertise while providing exceptional service in a collaborative environment.
