Job description

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs assessment on various gas turbine components received for inspection by following written procedures, documents (blueprints, drawings, and specifications), and established practices
  • Performs visual inspections as required of own work and work of others before part movement to next operation.
  • Performs NDT processing as required (FPI, airflow, etc.) working directly with Staff or Senior Level Technicians on interpretation of findings
  • Generates NCRs in the QSI system
  • Utilizes precision measuring equipment and hand tools as required for assessment, disassembly and final assembly
  • Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Performs work following all applicable safety procedures and policies
  • NDT processing (Visual FPI, airflow, water flow)
  • Other duties as assigned, * Stooping/Crouching. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another.
  • Pushing & Pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • May require travel (air & ground) with short notice.

  • Being able to wear required PPEs for specific tasks performed, such as respirators, Tyvek suit, gloves, face shield, etc.
  • Ability to cooperate and work with people

Requirements

Education & Training

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix, * 2+ years of experience manufacturing experience with specific skills in at least one of the following disciplines: grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining or welding or similar skillset.
  • 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions
  • 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and time keeping applications
