  • Diagnosing basic network and connectivity issues
  • Setting up IT equipment for new members of staff
  • Maintaining and updating existing IT equipment
  • Escalating more complex technical issues where appropriate
  • Keeping accurate records of IT equipment and support requests
  • Helping ensure IT systems across the Academy are running effectively
  • Providing friendly and approachable technical support to staff

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in IT, technology and problem-solving who is comfortable providing hands-on technical support within a busy working environment.

Candidates must hold a minimum Level 1 qualification in IT or a relevant IT-related subject.

Previous IT Technician experience would be beneficial, but we are also happy to consider junior candidates who meet the qualification requirement and are looking to build their practical IT experience.

Experience or knowledge in areas such as the following would be beneficial:

  • IT support or helpdesk environments
  • Windows computers and laptops
  • Microsoft 365
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Setting up computers and user accounts
  • Printers and peripheral devices
  • Basic networking and connectivity
  • Supporting colleagues with technical issues
  • Working within a school, college or similar organisation

What will make you successful?

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 1 in IT or a relevant IT-related subject
  • Confident and enthusiastic about IT
  • A logical and practical problem-solver
  • Patient and approachable when supporting staff
  • Able to explain technical information clearly
  • Comfortable troubleshooting common IT issues
  • Organised and able to prioritise support requests
  • Willing to learn and develop their technical knowledge
  • Able to work independently when required
  • Reliable and professional
  • Comfortable working within a school environment
  • Able to maintain appropriate confidentiality
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving IT issues

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their IT experience within an education setting, while providing valuable support to staff and helping keep the Academy’s day-to-day IT operations running smoothly.

The role is initially available for 2-3 days per week, with the potential to increase to a full working week depending on rates and requirements.

If you are IT qualified, tech-savvy, approachable and enjoy solving problems, we would love to hear from you.
