IT Quality and Testing Analyst

Due to an expansion in our business, FoneHut is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented IT Quality and Testing Analyst to support the quality, reliability, and operational performance of our digital systems and e-commerce operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and documenting software and systems testing activities, helping ensure that FoneHut’s e-commerce website, inventory databases, booking systems, and other digital platforms operate accurately, securely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Test Script & Plan Development: Designing and writing structured, systematic test plans and quality assurance criteria to evaluate the operational health of the company’s e-commerce website, inventory databases, and digital booking systems.

· Develop detailed test scripts and test cases based on business and technical requirements.

· Carry out functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing where required.

· Identify, record, investigate, and report software defects, system issues, and data inconsistencies.

· Work with technical and operational teams to reproduce and resolve identified defects.

· Perform testing of website functionality, online transactions, product information, stock/inventory data, and booking processes.

· Validate system updates, new features, integrations, and software releases before they are implemented.

· Monitor testing results and maintain accurate records of test cases, defects, resolutions, and quality assurance activities.

· Assist with database and data-quality checks to ensure information is accurate, complete, and consistent.

· Support continuous improvement of testing processes, procedures, and quality standards.

· Prepare clear testing reports and communicate testing outcomes, risks, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

· Help identify potential operational and technical risks before changes are released into production.

· Ensure testing activities follow agreed company procedures and quality standards.

· Experience in IT software testing, quality assurance, systems testing, or a related IT role.

· Good understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.

· Ability to create clear and structured test plans, test scripts, and test cases.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Good attention to detail, particularly when identifying defects and data inconsistencies.

· Experience testing web-based applications and digital systems.

· Ability to document findings clearly and accurately.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to manage testing tasks and meet agreed deadlines.

Desirable Experience

· Experience testing e-commerce websites or online retail platforms.

· Experience with inventory or stock management systems.

· Experience with online booking or scheduling systems.

· Knowledge of database testing and data validation.

· Familiarity with defect/issue tracking systems.

· Understanding of regression and integration testing.

· Knowledge of Agile or other software development methodologies.

· UK degree holders will be preferred

£34,500 per year

Holiday Entitlement

The role provides annual leave in accordance with UK statutory requirements, currently 5.6 weeks of paid annual leave per year for a full-time 5-day worker (28 days), inclusive of applicable bank/public holidays where permitted by the company’s holiday policy.

Employees will also receive the applicable UK bank/public holidays, subject to the company’s holiday arrangements and business requirements.
