Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Risk & Governance Manager to join our management team. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the company’s risk management, governance, health & safety, quality, environmental compliance, and regulatory obligations. Reporting to the Head of IT & Governance, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations remain safe, compliant, efficient, and aligned with industry best practice.

As Risk & Governance Manager, you will work across all departments, identifying risks, implementing controls, maintaining management systems, and supporting certification and audit activities. This role offers the opportunity to influence business-wide standards while driving continuous improvement in compliance and operational excellence., * Lead and manage the organisation’s health, safety, environmental, and governance activities.

  • Maintain and improve the company’s Integrated Management System, including policies, procedures, legal registers, risk registers, and supplier compliance records.
  • Develop, review, and monitor risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work, ensuring appropriate controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee environmental initiatives, including carbon (CO ) assessments, sustainability objectives, performance monitoring, and statutory environmental reporting.
  • Support information security and regulatory compliance activities, including ADISA requirements and physical security checks.
  • Work closely with certification bodies, auditors, regulatory agencies, third parties to maintain compliance and support successful audits and certifications.
  • Communicate risk findings, recommendations, and improvement plans clearly across the business.

Requirements

We’re looking for a confident and detail-oriented professional with strong risk management and compliance expertise, who can influence business decision making and drive positive change across the organisation.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and auditing Integrated Management Systems
  • Good understanding of ADISA ITAD compliance and data security risks.
  • Excellent knowledge of OHS legislation and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance, sustainability requirements, and related legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess, document, quantify, and communicate risk effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions based on risk and business impact., * IOSH Managing Safely.
  • ISEP Foundation Certificate in Sustainability & Environmental Management.
  • Training or qualifications in COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Working at Height, or related disciplines.
  • Additional governance, environmental, or risk management certifications.
  • Lead Auditor qualification and/or demonstrable Lead Auditor experience
  • Experience supporting external audits, certifications, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with carbon reporting, sustainability, or carbon reduction projects
