Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Through Life Support (TLS) Engineer to join our team on a contractor basis within an Inside IR35 arrangement for a period of 6 to 12 months. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operational excellence and security of complex network and IT infrastructure throughout the lifecycle of our systems. Your expertise will drive the maintenance, support, and enhancement of critical network components, enabling seamless communication and data flow across diverse platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-stakes projects in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your technical prowess to deliver resilient and secure network solutions., * Provide comprehensive support for network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, and telecommunication systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Manage and troubleshoot network security devices such as firewalls (Cisco ASA), Cisco ISE, and PKI systems to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Support network protocols including IPsec, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, and SNMP across various environments like Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows, Solaris, and openSUSE.
  • Oversee system administration tasks on operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux distributions, VMware vSphere, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
  • Implement network installation procedures and perform configuration management using tools like Ansible and PowerShell to automate deployment processes.
  • Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, and SolarWinds to proactively identify issues before they impact operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DevOps initiatives involving virtualization (Citrix), high availability architectures, load balancing solutions, and system security protocols including SSL/TLS encryption.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting complex computer networking environments with a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, Ethernet switching, and MPLS networks.
  • Hands-on knowledge of network security technologies including VPNs (IPsec), firewalls (Cisco ASA), Cisco ISE for identity management, PKI for encryption services, SSO integrations, IDS/IPS systems, and encryption standards.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as Azure and AWS along with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere; experience with SAN storage solutions is advantageous.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python or Shell Scripting for automation tasks; experience with Ansible is preferred.
  • Ability to support diverse operating systems including Windows Server environments as well as Linux distributions such as Debian and CentOS; knowledge of UNIX-based systems like Solaris is beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or PRTG; capability to perform root cause analysis swiftly.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices for service management; experience working within SDLC frameworks in a high-security environment is desirable.
