Job description

The architect will lead architecture reviews, guide technical teams and vendors, and support integration across eligibility and enrollment, provider services, third-party liability, pharmacy, and data warehouse systems. The work includes enterprise architecture, APIs, security, cloud platforms, technical standards, roadmaps, governance, and change-request review in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture modeling, technical governance, and design reviews for a modular Medicaid Enterprise System.

  • Align solutions with CMS guidance, MITA, federal interoperability expectations, NIST, HIPAA, and agency standards.

  • Guide system integrators, vendors, and multidisciplinary delivery teams.

  • Define integration patterns across enterprise systems using APIs, service-oriented architecture, cloud services, ETL, and modular design.

  • Review security, data-management, and cloud architecture decisions.

  • Produce architecture artifacts, standards, roadmaps, and change recommendations.

  • Communicate technical decisions clearly to business, program, vendor, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

10 years of architectural modeling, data management, and security best practices.

  • 10 years of professional communication and stakeholder engagement.

  • 10 years collaborating with vendors, system integrators, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • 10 years working with Azure, AWS, or a comparable cloud platform.

  • Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.

  • Ability to work onsite at 600 E Broad Street in Richmond exactly two days each week.

Highly desired qualifications:

  • 10 years supporting large healthcare or government technology programs, preferably Medicaid or Medicaid Enterprise Systems.

  • 8 years of MMIS or Medicaid Enterprise Systems experience.

  • 10 years working with MITA or federal interoperability requirements.

  • 10 years working with Node.js, Java, Angular, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, X12, FHIR, and HTML5.

  • 10 years working with relational databases, ETL, SharePoint, X12 transactions, and legacy programming.

  • 10 years of enterprise integration, SOA, APIs, cloud, ETL, or modular architecture work.

Nice to have:

  • 8 years of state-government, public-sector consulting, or large-enterprise architecture experience., * architecture modeling, data management, security practices: 10 years (Required)

Benefits & conditions

Expected cash-rate lanes depend on the verified work relationship and final written terms:

  • W-2 with employer-sponsored benefits: anticipated cash range of $70 to $72 per hour, subject to employee-specific benefit pricing and final written terms.

  • W-2 without employer-sponsored benefits or paid leave: provisional screening range of $78 to $82 per hour, subject to final employer-cost verification.

  • Direct C2C through the candidate’s own bona fide business: provisional range of $85 to $88 per hour if the client program permits it and classification, insurance, and administrative costs fit.

Pay: $70.00 - $82.00 per hour
