Job description
Tungsten West is looking for a hands-on IT Technician to join our team. You’ll be the first point of contact for IT support across the business, providing first- and second-line support for users, devices, applications and infrastructure. Working closely with the IT Manager, you’ll help maintain and improve our Microsoft 365, Intune and on-premises IT environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting users and working with a broad range of technologies., * Provide first- and second-line IT support.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT incidents and requests.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Manage devices and policies using Microsoft Intune.
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server.
- Build, deploy and maintain Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls.
- Support wired and wireless networks, VPNs and telephony systems.
- Assist with cyber security, patching and backups.
- Maintain IT asset and licence records.
- Support IT projects, upgrades and deployments.
- Liaise with external suppliers and support providers.
- Assist with CCTV and access-control systems where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an IT Support or IT Technician role.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server.
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Windows Autopilot.
- PowerShell.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- CCTV and access-control systems.
- IT project, migration or deployment experience.
- Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL or networking certifications.
- Experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing or mining environments.
