Job description

You’ll help develop and maintain business web applications built using React and TypeScript and hosted in AWS and Firebase. These are practical, data-driven systems involving user accounts, forms, workflows, reporting and access controls.

Working with colleagues across CoolCare, LNT and Crystal Care, you’ll turn real operational needs into useful, straightforward features. You’ll investigate issues, improve existing functionality and help keep our applications reliable and secure.

You’ll be involved throughout the development process, from understanding what users need through to development, testing and release. As part of a small new team, you’ll also have plenty of opportunity to influence how we approach the code, data, configuration and longer-term development of the products.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with experience in building applications that manage data and business processes. Experience limited to brochure websites, landing pages or CMS page building will not be sufficient for this role., * You care about doing things well and can make practical decisions.

  • You can work independently, communicate clearly and know when to ask for help.
  • You enjoy understanding what users need and making things easier for them.
  • You enjoy learning new approaches and are open to using AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work, while checking their output and taking responsibility for the results.
  • You’re comfortable joining a small, developing team and helping to shape how it works.

Technical Skills

  • Experience building and maintaining production web applications using modern frontend frameworks and languages, including React and Typescript.
  • Experience using cloud services for application hosting, authentication and server-side processing.
  • Familiarity with deployments, permissions, logging and troubleshooting in cloud environments.
  • Experience working with relational and/or document databases, including data modelling, querying and secure access controls.
  • Familiarity with Agile working, version control, code reviews and automated testing.

Desirable experience

Experience with any of the following would be useful:

  • Experience with other web application technologies, such as Vue.js, Angular, Node.js or .NET.
  • Firebase, including Firestore, Authentication, Hosting and Functions.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
  • SQL Server or Azure SQL.
  • Configurable forms, reports or workflows.
  • Building or integrating APIs.
  • CI/CD and deployment automation.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants to support development, debugging, testing or code review.
  • Handling sensitive personal data or developing software for the care sector or similar.

About the company
