Job description

  • Diagnose, repair, upgrade and build desktop PCs and laptops, including hardware replacements, Windows installations, software troubleshooting, data transfers and system optimisation.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers in person, over the phone and via email, explaining technical issues in plain English and recommending suitable solutions.

Requirements

This is primarily a workshop-based role, working independently to diagnose, repair, upgrade and build computers and laptops. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent fault-finding ability and take pride in delivering high-quality work with attention to detail., * 1 year Minimum previous experience repairing and building computers, strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and PC hardware, excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and a friendly, professional, customer-focused attitude.

  • Good system, software and hardware diagnostics, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • PC Hardware installation, maintenance, best practices and troubleshooting.

You must be technically proficient with the following:

  • Experience diagnosing hardware faults and software issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

THE PERSON

You will need to have excellent communication skills via face to face, telephone and

email, you must be able to converse with non-technical people without technical

jargon and be able to build and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues

and suppliers.

You must be able to manage and prioritise your own workload to be able to work within tight deadlines and keep customers and tickets up to date.

As well as being both self-motivated and self-disciplined, you will be able to remain

calm under pressure and be a tenacious problem solver who understands when

issues should be escalated. You will be eager to learn with an ability to self-teach in

areas of uncertainty. Finally, you should possess a strong customer service ethos with

a hunger to develop and improve your experience
