Job description

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Talent & Capability Lead to oversee the end-to-end design, implementation, and continuous evaluation of our client’s workforce development strategy. In this role, you will partner with key business leaders to identify capability gaps, build future-proof learning pathways, and foster a culture of continuous professional growth.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in instructional design and program delivery with strong digital learning operations and data-driven impact assessment., * Strategy & Capability Building: Conduct comprehensive organizational needs analyses to design, implement, and refine high-impact learning frameworks, leadership pipelines, and career progression tracks.

  • Program Delivery & Facilitation: Facilitate engaging live and virtual workshops, leadership seminars, onboarding journeys, and professional development interventions across multidisciplinary business units.
  • Digital Learning Architecture: Oversee the administration, content curation, and user adoption of our Learning Management System (LMS) and digital learning ecosystem to ensure seamless learner experience and robust tracking.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong, consultative relationships with department heads and functional leads to align talent initiatives directly with core business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Impact Measurement & Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for learning programs, utilising learning analytics and data insights to measure ROI and continuously improve program quality.
  • Project Execution: Manage multiple workforce development projects from concept through execution, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards., * Professional Accreditation: CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 in L&D/HR, certified coaching qualification, or recognized professional learning practitioner accreditation.
  • Early Careers & Talent Pipelines: Background in establishing apprenticeships, graduate schemes, early careers initiatives, or technical succession plans.
  • Regulated Sector Background: Experience operating within engineering, technical, scientific, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Modern Learning Methodologies: Practical familiarity with microlearning, digital content authoring tools, UK skills/apprenticeship funding frameworks, and change management principles.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Degree-level qualification or equivalent practical experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, HR, Adult Education, or a related discipline.
  • Program Management: Demonstrated track record of designing, delivering, and scaling learning and development solutions within complex or matrixed organisational structures.
  • Facilitation Mastery: Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with proven capability in leading interactive group training and professional coaching sessions.
  • Platform Operations: Hands-on experience administering LMS environments, digital learning tools, and e-learning content systems, including generating performance metrics.
  • Needs Analysis: Proven capability in translating operational and strategic challenges into practical capability-building programs and career development frameworks.
  • Influence & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders., * Do you hold a CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification (or equivalent)?
  • How many years of experience do you have in developing organisational capability strategies?
  • Do you have strong, up-to-date knowledge of modern learning technologies?
