Job description
- Act as a first point of contact for technical support issues following initial training.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365 related issues efficiently and professionally.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including user account setup, permissions, device deployment, and security compliance.
- Support users with desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, and office equipment issues.
- Assist with the deployment, maintenance, and replacement of IT equipment including switches, servers, firewalls, and workstations.
- Maintain accurate documentation through the company ticketing system and update internal knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and user/device management and Sharepoint.
- Support cybersecurity best practices including endpoint protection, MFA, access control, and security monitoring.
- Contribute to maintaining high service standards and minimising any downtime.
- Participate in continuous learning and development to stay up to date with evolving technologies and security threats.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Windows Server?, We are looking for a highly motivated IT Technician to join the existing IT Team within a fast-paced environment. The person will form an important and integral part of an expanding business.
This is a 37 hour a week job, based at the Gloucester office. Mon-Thurs 08.30-5pm Fri 08.30-4.30pm with a 1-hour lunch break. All applicants must be eligible for UKSC & NPPV3 clearances. 12 month fixed term contract.

- Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluent written and spoken English.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and logical when troubleshooting technical issues.
- Strong customer service mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage time effectively, and work independently when required.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 environments including Entra ID and Intune and Sharepoint.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and security best practices.
- Ability to document work clearly and maintain accurate records through a ticketing system.
- Ability to lift and install IT equipment when required (servers, switches, desktop hardware, etc.).
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and permissions management.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V.
- Understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools, monitoring platforms, or SIEM solutions.
- Experience working within an MSP or customer-facing IT support environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals or equivalent experience.
