Job description

For our client, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer / AutoCAD Professional to join our team and support industrial electrical engineering and design projects. This is contract to perm opportunity., * Create and revise electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical

  • Develop one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring/interconnect diagrams, and loop drawings
  • Draft power distribution, lighting, receptacle, grounding, conduit, and cable tray plans
  • Develop panel layouts, MCC and switchgear elevations, and control panel arrangement drawings
  • Create and maintain panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, equipment lists, and instrument lists
  • Prepare hazardous area classification drawings and electrical details
  • Accurately incorporate engineering markups and complete revisions on schedule
  • Maintain consistent drawing standards, including layers, blocks, xrefs, attributes, title blocks, revision clouds, numbering, and plotting
  • Coordinate electrical drawings with process, mechanical, and instrumentation & controls disciplines
  • Support as-built documentation and project closeout activities
  • Participate in occasional field verification or client visits as needed

Requirements

2-5 Years Experience Englewood, CO or Houston, TX Full-Time, On-Site, The ideal candidate is highly proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, understands electrical drafting standards and the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and can independently produce accurate, coordinated, issue-ready drawing packages., * 2-5 years of hands-on electrical drafting or electrical design experience
  • Strong, current proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical 2023/2024
  • Experience with xrefs, layers, blocks, attributes, sheet setup, and plotting
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
  • Ability to independently produce professional electrical drawings with minimal training
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawing types, symbols, and drafting conventions
  • Ability to interpret engineer markups, sketches, specifications, and vendor drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to drawing-set accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, drafting certificate, or technical training is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • P&ID drafting
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Revit or Navisworks
  • Oil & gas, midstream, chemical, manufacturing, or industrial plant projects
  • Medium-voltage electrical systems
  • Modular or skid-based process equipment
  • Shop fabrication or construction drawings
  • Engineering consulting or EPC environments
