Job description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable IT Support Engineer to become part of our team in Dulwich, South East London.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with people as well as technology. You’ll be responsible for helping users with their day-to-day IT needs, diagnosing technical problems and making sure issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
As part of a small IT team, no two days are likely to be exactly the same. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of support requests, work on a variety of technical tasks and become involved in equipment installations, upgrades and projects both in the office and at client locations.
Your responsibilities
The role will involve providing day-to-day technical assistance to users across a range of hardware, software and Microsoft 365 services.
Your main duties will include:
- Responding to IT support requests and diagnosing technical problems.
- Providing support for Windows desktops, laptops, applications and peripherals.
- Supporting users with Microsoft 365 applications and services.
- Carrying out routine Microsoft 365 administration.
- Investigating issues and providing practical solutions with minimal disruption to users.
- Recording and updating support tickets accurately.
- Keeping users informed about the progress of their requests.
- Maintaining records of company hardware, software and IT equipment.
- Assisting with software licensing and asset management.
- Helping deploy new computers, applications and IT systems.
- Identifying recurring problems and highlighting potential improvements.
- Assisting with IT projects, equipment installations and system upgrades.
- Travelling to client premises when required to install, configure or commission equipment.
You’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your work and develop your technical knowledge across a broad range of IT systems and technologies., Because we’re a relatively small team, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of IT activities rather than concentrating on one narrow area of support.
You’ll work closely with colleagues and users, have the opportunity to see projects through from start to finish, and occasionally get out of the office to work at client sites.
If you enjoy variety, solving problems and working directly with people, this could be a great fit., This is an office-based position in Dulwich, South East London, with working hours of 08:30-18:00, Monday to Friday.
The position will occasionally require travel to client sites, particularly for equipment installations, commissioning and project-related work.
Employment will be subject to successfully completing a DBS check.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who already has experience working in an IT support, desktop support or similar technical position.
You should have:
- Practical experience providing IT support to end users.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
- An understanding of Microsoft 365 administration.
- A basic to intermediate understanding of TCP/IP and networking.
- Experience working with IT ticketing or service management systems.
- Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently.
You’ll also need to be comfortable dealing with people. Our users may have very different levels of technical knowledge, so being approachable, patient and able to explain solutions in straightforward language is important.
We’re looking for someone who takes responsibility, enjoys finding solutions and doesn’t wait to be told about every problem. A positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide a good service are just as important to us as technical knowledge., * Previous experience in an IT support or desktop support position.
- Good knowledge of Windows.

- Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
