Job description
Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Container Infrastructure Engineer to support a mission-critical large-scale system serving the Federal Government in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Containerization technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Java)., * Enhance the feature set of existing OpenShift platform across multiple environments.
- Serve as OpenShift SME (Subject-Matter Expert).
- Install, maintain, and operationalize OpenShift Operators.
- Assist with DevSecOps automation.
- Support development teams with containerization, infrastructure, and deployments.
Requirements
Residency Requirement: Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
Sponsorship: This position does not offer any type of sponsorship. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. (e.g., Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD)., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of direct experience with RedHat OpenShift containerization platform.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS.
- Proven experience with scripting (bash, PowerShell, Python, Java).
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), observability tools.
- Understanding of event platforms such as Kafka.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in federal government programs, or regulated environments (CMS experience is preferred).
- Relevant certifications (AWS, OpenShift) are a plus.
