Job description

We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians to support deployment, installation, maintenance, and decommissioning activities within a large-scale data center environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with rack and stack operations, structured cabling, hardware installation, and data center best practices.

This position requires working overnight shifts in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict adherence to safety, security, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rack, stack, and cabling of servers, storage, networking, and specialized compute equipment.
  • Install rails, mount hardware, label assets, and ensure proper cable management and airflow.
  • Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling according to deployment standards.
  • Support hardware moves, adds, and changes (MAC activities) throughout the data center.
  • Execute deployment activities using established runbooks and technical documentation.
  • Conduct basic hardware testing, validation, LED checks, port verification, and physical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, asset tracking, and documentation within internal systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, network, and operations teams during deployments and migrations.
  • Follow all ESD, safety, security, and facility procedures.
  • Assist with decommissioning and removal of end-of-life equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on data center experience performing rack and stack activities.
  • Knowledge of server and network rack layouts.
  • Experience with structured cabling, including fiber and copper connectivity.
  • Understanding of Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and power connections.
  • Experience installing enterprise server hardware such as Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret rack elevation diagrams, deployment instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined rack spaces.
  • Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive electronic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and procedures., * Experience in large-scale, hyperscale, or high-density data center environments.
  • Exposure to GPU-based infrastructure or high-performance computing environments.
  • Knowledge of hot aisle/cold aisle containment best practices.
  • Experience supporting hardware refreshes, migrations, or large-scale deployment projects.
  • Basic Linux knowledge.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work on ladders and in confined rack environments as needed.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.

Benefits & conditions

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
