Job description

Dane County owns and operates a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant that converts landfill gas to pipeline quality RNG that is injected into the interstate transmission pipeline. The Plant also has systems to offload RNG trucked to the site via tube trailers. This classification provides a critical support role in the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the RNG Plant and offloading station by managing the equipment inventory; ordering spare parts, equipment, and consumable products; and assisting with coordination of maintenance events. This classification also assists with technical and administrative aspects related to the RNG Plant including invoicing, contracting, data collection, and analysis., Maintains the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory control and preventative maintenance tracking. Responsible for purchasing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking spare parts, equipment, and consumables. Assists with coordination of maintenance events; contract management; and inspections, data collection, recordkeeping, and analysis for customer invoicing, RNG Plant performance, and compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) renewable fuel standards and other applicable environmental, safety, and industry regulations.

Must have any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to three (3) years in Inventory Management, Data Management, Data Analysis, Business, Accounting, Solid Waste Management, Biogas Operations, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Resources, or another related field or industry., At least 50% of the duties will be performed in noisy, outdoor, confined, dark, dirty, or dusty settings such as the RNG Plant or the unheated landfill gas processing buildings. Some work is carried out in an office setting. Ability to perform “light/heavy work” defined as being able to lift up to 40 pounds and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Physically capable of operating hand tools and power tools; climbing ladders; traversing uneven surfaces; working with poor lighting; and working in conditions of wind, dust, rain, snow, ice, extreme temperatures, and excessive noise. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies or unexpected maintenance events. Must be able to be on-call for night and weekend work., Must be highly skilled in various applicable software applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge and experience with CMMS, inventory tracking, or database management programs. Ability to read engineering drawings and product manuals to identify vendors, suppliers, equipment, and spare parts. Knowledge of codes, standards, and laws pertaining to fire protection, solid waste and biogas facility operation, and renewable fuel standards including: 40 CFR Part 80, 40 CFR Part 60, NR 500 and others. Ability to work independently or as a team to analyze and solve problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working internal and external relationships. Ability to be creative, flexible, self-motivated, organized, and quality and customer service oriented.
