Job description

  • Product Vision/Roadmap Management: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with business objectives in cooperation with the VP of product/Product Manager. Conducts research and develops a good understanding of the customer’s needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
  • Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the needs of the stakeholders and is effectively communicated to the development team.
  • Requirements Definition: Develops requirements documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts, in cooperation with Product Management, Customer Success, and Engineering Leads.
  • Prioritization: Determine the priority of items in the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and other relevant factors, and communicate these priorities to the development team.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the development and product teams throughout the sprint to clarify requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the product developed meets the acceptance criteria.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, communicate progress, and ensure alignment with their needs and expectations.
  • Release Planning: Participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products, and introducing products to the market.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with the development and quality assurance team to ensure that the delivered product meets quality standards and fulfills the defined requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek feedback from stakeholders and team members to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Other job appropriate tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, OR
  • 2-year college degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field AND 2 years relevant work experience, OR
  • A combination of equivalent work experience and education.
  • 2+ years of oil & gas accounting experience required; experience with ERP systems is highly desirable., * A deep understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to break down large business requests into smaller sized, incremental solutions.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture where ideas are valued.
  • Eagerness to learn from both successes and failures to apply those lessons in future initiatives.
  • Understanding of business goals, objectives, and constraints that drive software development projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Optional experience but extremely desirable:

  • Strong leadership qualities including the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower the team.
  • Experience working in an Agile focused team including working with Product Managers and other key stakeholders
  • Understanding of the oil and gas industry and the associated domains including any regulatory requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have any direct members reporting to it.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times., * Do you have at least 2 years of accounting experience within the oil & gas industry?
  • Do you have experience working with ERP systems (such as Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)?
  • How many years of experience do you have working in a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting software products?
  • Do you have experience working with Agile teams, including activities such as backlog management, requirements gathering, user stories, or sprint planning?

  • Salary is commensurate with experience (Insert Band) and paid twice monthly via direct deposit. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
