Job description
The Lock Desk Analyst II supports day-to-day lock desk operations by processing and validating lock requests and collaborating with internal teams to ensure pricing accuracy. This role is expected to work independently on routine lock desk tasks, support issue resolution, and contribute to process improvement initiatives., * Process and validate new locks, re- locks, change requests, and extensions in accordance with established lock desk policies.
- Provide timely, professional pricing and lock-related guidance and support to loan originators, processors, and underwriting, meeting lock desk ticket SLAs
- Verify alignment between locked pricing in Optimal Blue/Encompass and investor requirements, ensuring pricing accuracy and escalating discrepancies to the Pricing Desk when identified
- Reconcile lock data discrepancies between the LOS and pricing engine
- Generate reports on lock pipeline activity, volume, and turnaround times
- Maintain documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
- Serve as a resource for newer analysts on lock desk procedures and system use
- Participate in training sessions, cross-training, and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in mortgage lending, lock desk, or loan operations
- Familiarity with pricing engines (Optimal Blue, EPPS) and LOS platforms (Encompass preferred)
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and basic lookups
- Strong analytical and communication skills
Skills
- Intermediate Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formatting)
- Familiarity with LOS and PPE systems
- Strong documentation and audit readiness
- Ability to multitask and meet daily pricing/locking deadlines
- Professional communication and internal customer support, * How many years of experience do you have working on a mortgage lock desk or a mortgage pricing/secondary marketing?
- Have you worked with Optimal Blue, Encompass, or a similar mortgage pricing/LOS platform? If so, which ones?
- This role requires working PST hours, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm PST (12:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST), and this schedule is non-negotiable. Are you available to work these hours?
