Job description

As a Lead ServiceNow Developer you play a pivotal, technical-leadership role in successfully deploying ServiceNow solutions for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and implementing ServiceNow applications to meet specific business requirements. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will contribute significantly to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients., Architectural Expertise: Design scalable, reliable, and high-performance ServiceNow solutions that meet both immediate project needs and long-term business goals.

  • Solution Configuration: Lead engagements with Solutions Architects and Business Analysts to understand the functional requirements and translate them into effective ServiceNow configurations. Configure and customize ServiceNow applications and modules to align with clients’ needs and industry best practices.
  • Business Acumen: Drive understanding of the business context in which the team is working. Align technical decisions with the client’s overarching goals and objectives.
  • Technical Implementation: Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement ServiceNow solutions. This includes setting up workflows, business rules, user interfaces, and automation to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Innovation: Encourage innovation within the development team. Support the exploration of new technologies, methodologies, and processes that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s work.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop ServiceNow configuration test plans and validate functionality, data integrity, and user experience. Address any issues and perform necessary adjustments to ensure the solution meets the desired outcomes.
  • Data Migration: Develop and document data migration strategies and plans. Lead data migration activities from legacy systems to ServiceNow, ensuring data accuracy and consistency during the transition.
  • Integration Management: Design and document integration strategies and plans. Lead the integration of ServiceNow with other systems and applications to create seamless end-to-end processes.
  • User Training and Documentation: Design and provide end-user training to ensure a smooth adoption of the implemented solution. Create detailed documentation of the configuration and customization for future reference.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts by assisting users during the transition period, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly. Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate smooth transitions during system changes, and minimize system disruption.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and devise strategies to mitigate them. This includes considering factors such as security vulnerabilities, data privacy concerns, and potential integration challenges.
  • Incident and Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ServiceNow implementations. Lead the collaboration with support teams to provide timely resolution to incidents and problems.
  • Security and Compliance: Lead the adherence to security best practices and ensure that the team understands and implements solutions that meet relevant compliance requirements. Identify gaps in team knowledge and work with internal Practice leadership to resolve knowledge gaps.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and practices in the ServiceNow ecosystem. Lead personal and team development.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Lead the mentorship and guidance of junior developers. This includes providing technical guidance, code reviews, best practice education, lunch and learns, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaboration and Communication: While not necessarily a formal project manager, be well-versed in project management principles. This includes coordinating tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring the successful completion of projects.
  • Strategic Communication: Interact with executive stakeholders, both internally and client-side, explaining complex technical matters in a clear and non-technical manner.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate disagreements within the team, handle challenges that arise during projects, and promote a positive team atmosphere.
  • Corporate Growth: Contribute to the growth of the business. Lead the development of client roadmaps and solution demonstrations to identify and foster new opportunities for services and ServiceNow licenses sales. Actively contribute to proposals (“bids”) for new opportunities, including oral presentations, written technical proposals and reviews of such work.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience implementing ServiceNow solutions

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • Additionally, must have one of these certifications:
  • CISSP
  • Security+
  • CASP+
  • CISM
  • Must have a Secret Clearance
  • Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.

Valuable Skills for this Role:

  • The ideal candidate will also have:
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • Certified in one or more additional mainline certifications, with preference for the following:
  • SPM
  • ITSM
  • Discovery
  • SecOps
  • Event Management
  • Vulnerability Response
  • Understanding of Risk Management concepts and systems including IRM.
  • Understanding of platform security including, RBAC, Data Policies, SSO, integration security.
  • Vast experience in ServiceNow development and architecture.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (JavaScript, GlideScript) and other relevant languages
  • Ability to design and lead complex integrations and workflows
  • Understanding of system architecture and design principles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth understanding of ServiceNow best practices and industry trends
  • Conflict resolution skills to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely and accurate delivery
