The Role

We are looking for an IT Engineer who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and can operate independently without constant supervision.

This is a remote role with occasional travel to customer sites when required.

You will be responsible for supporting a wide range of businesses, resolving technical issues, maintaining infrastructure, delivering projects, and helping clients get the most from their technology investments.

You will be expected to take ownership of issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution, communicate professionally with clients, and always look for the best long-term solution rather than the quickest workaround.

You will have the freedom to manage your own day, but with that freedom comes the expectation that client issues, projects, and responsibilities are delivered to a high standard without the need for constant oversight.

When support demand is low, we expect our engineers to proactively improve documentation, refine internal processes, enhance monitoring and automation, strengthen security, or develop their technical skills.

We would rather have no ticket updates than meaningless ticket updates. We value resolution, ownership, and quality over activity for activity’s sake., * Provide technical support to managed service clients.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues across Microsoft 365, Windows, networking and server environments.
  • Manage support tickets through to resolution.
  • Perform proactive maintenance and monitoring activities.
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades and client projects.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless networks and VPN connectivity.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and documenting existing environments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email and remote support sessions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client environments and internal processes.
  • Contribute towards automation, standardisation and continual service improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * Previous experience within an MSP or multi-client IT support environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience supporting Exchange Online, Entra ID and Intune.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including switching, wireless networking, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting Dell and HP hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle for client site visits.
  • Must reside within South Yorkshire or West Yorkshire.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with N-Central RMM.
  • Experience with HaloPSA.
  • Experience with UniFi networking solutions.
  • Experience with Aruba Instant On networking solutions.
  • Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware.
  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience working with cyber security tools and best practices.
  • Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, Azure or other industry certifications.
