Job description

We’re looking for a Systems Engineer who is comfortable owning endpoints, servers, and networks end to end. You’ll support KME’s full client base, with a significant share of your time dedicated to one of our largest managed accounts, a multi-site nonprofit organization. This is a field-first role: you’ll spend most of your week at client locations, solving problems in person and building relationships with the people you support., * Travel up to 5 days per week. You’ll travel to client sites anywhere in our service area, from Dover, DE to Trenton, NJ, including the Philadelphia metro and South Jersey.

  • Typically onsite. In most weeks, you will be working at a client location.
  • Remote when not dispatched. On days when no onsite dispatch is required, you’ll have the opportunity to work remotely.
  • Reliable transportation. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle are required.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Tier 2 support for endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure across multiple client environments
  • Serve as a primary onsite and remote resource for a large multi-site nonprofit client
  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Configure and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, VPN (IPsec and SSL), switching, VLANs, and wireless
  • Support VMware vSphere environments, including host and VM maintenance
  • Deploy, image, patch, and secure Windows endpoints using our RMM platform (NinjaOne)
  • Monitor and respond to alerts, backup failures, and security events; remediate or escalate as needed
  • Work tickets through to resolution with clear notes and timely client communication
  • Document configurations, procedures, and client environments in IT Glue
  • Contribute to projects such as server migrations, network refreshes, VPN migrations, and M365 rollouts

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on IT experience in a systems or network support role (MSP experience strongly preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
  • Practical networking skills: TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, VPN, firewall policy, and wireless
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work independently in the field
  • Professional, client-facing communication skills; comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical users
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

Nice to Have

  • Fortinet NSE certifications or hands-on FortiGate / FortiClient experience
  • Cisco Meraki experience
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications (MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104)
  • Experience with NinjaOne, IT Glue, or similar RMM and documentation platforms
  • Experience supporting healthcare, dental, nonprofit, or government environments, including HIPAA awareness
  • Unifi Experience
