Java Developer

• Develop, customize, and maintain open-source software (OSS) components and create containerized deployments using OpenShift (OCP) and internal deployment tools.
• Design, develop, and support Java-based applications and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related frameworks.
• Build and maintain database solutions, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and performance optimization across multiple database platforms.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and cloud teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and AWS-based solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and mentor team members on software development best practices.

• 8+ years of experience in Java development with strong knowledge of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming, Collections, Concurrency, and Exception Handling.
• Hands-on experience with Java frameworks including Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, and RESTful API development.
• Strong database expertise with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL, and development of stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Experience with Git, Agile methodologies, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and software debugging/troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with AWS services, OpenShift/Kubernetes, container technologies, microservices architecture, messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and CI/CD pipelines.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 68422 to $ 131500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
