Job description

MacGregor Black are partnering with a growing and operationally complex business to appoint an experienced IT Manager to lead technology operations, infrastructure, cyber security, and digital transformation across the organisation. This is a highly visible leadership role, combining strategic ownership with hands-on operational delive ry. The successful individual will take accountability for the organisation’s end-to-end IT function, ensuring systems, infrastructure, cyber security, and business applications are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to wider commercial and operational objectives.This role will play a key part in shaping and delivering the company’s digital roadmap, driving continuous improvement across systems, data, automation, and technology capabil ity. Key Responsibili ties: Define and deliver the organisation’s digital and IT strategyTranslate business objectives into practical technology roadmaps and delivery plansLead transformation initiatives across systems, data, automation, and integrationDrive digital adoption and process improvement across the businessOwn the availability, performance, resilience, and scalability of IT infrastructureEnsure infrastructure remains secure, modern, and fit for operational demandLead incident management, disaster recovery, and major outage responseOversee cloud, network, endpoint, and infrastructure environmentsAct as system owner for core business systems including ERP platformsManage system integrations, upgrades, development, and vendor relationshipsEnsure systems support operational efficiency, data accuracy, and business performanceOwn cyber security strategy, controls, and compliance readinessLead initiatives across SOC, endpoint security, identity management, backups, and risk mitigationMaintain visibility across technical risk, cyber exposure, and operational resilienceEnsure high-quality IT support and service delivery across the organisationDrive continuous improvement across user experience, response times, and IT reliabilityLead, mentor, and develop the wider IT teamSet clear objectives, accountability, and direction across the departmentOwn IT budgets, forecasting, and cost managementBuild business cases for technology investment and transformation initiativesManage supplier and vendor relationships to maximise value and service de livery We’re Looki ng For

Requirements

Are you ready to lead IT operations and digital transformation in a complex, fast-paced business environment?

Do you have the technical and commercial expertise to drive infrastructure, cyber security, and systems performance at scale ? Can you combine strategic vision with hands-on delivery to modernise technology and improve operational performanc, Proven experience leading IT operations and digital transformation within a complex business environmentStrong background across infrastructure, cyber security, business systems, and operational technologyExperience managing suppliers, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholder groupsStrong understanding of systems integration, operational resilience, and technology governanceAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and problem solvingInfrastructure, cloud, and networking expertiseCyber security and risk management capabilityERP systems and business application ownership experienceStrong vendor and stakeholder management skillsData governance and reporting understandingAbility to translate technical concepts into commercial business outcomesStrong prioritisation, decision-making, and leadership capabilityERP integration and modernisation experienceCloud migration and transformation programmesExperience with SOC and cyber incident responseExposure to OAL/Ignition, Redzone, OEE platforms, Prophet ERP, Ubiquity, or Meraki solutionsFresh Produce or manufacturing industry experienceLean qualification or continuous improvement exposureCommercially aware and operationally focusedPragmatic and solutions-led approachComfortable operating in fast-paced environmentsStrong leadership presence with collaborative styleDelivery-focused with strong accountability and ownershipPassionate about driving continuous improvement and business per formance

Benefits & conditions

Salary £70 k - £80k.
