Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in electronics, test systems, RF technology and automation. You will play a critical role in developing, implementing and maintaining robust test solutions across complex electro-mechanical products and manufacturing processes.

Working as part of a highly skilled manufacturing engineering team, you will lead the development of test equipment, procedures and strategies that support both in-house production and outsourced manufacturing operations., As Test Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of automated and manual test solutions across the product lifecycle., * Training and certifying Test Engineers in the correct use of test equipment, procedures and documentation.

  • Defining, implementing and maintaining test schedules, methodologies and standards.
  • Designing, building and commissioning Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Developing simple control systems and software for test equipment applications.
  • Producing schematics, assembly drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for test equipment.
  • Managing the release and control of engineering data through PLM systems.
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through first article testing and validation.
  • Investigating field failures and manufacturing test failures, implementing corrective actions and improving test coverage.
  • Supporting manufacturing and outsourcing strategies through robust, cost-effective test solutions.
  • Conducting practical studies including OEM comparisons, obsolescence testing and accelerated life testing.
  • Maintaining and analysing manufacturing test data to support predictive diagnostics and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure effective product verification throughout the supply chain.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Schematics?, You will be a practical, hands-on engineer with strong electronics and test engineering experience gained within a manufacturing or high-technology environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • HNC in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong electronics knowledge and fault-finding capability.
  • Experience designing and implementing test systems and test equipment.
  • Programming and software development experience.
  • AutoCAD or similar CAD package experience.
  • Ability to produce electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical assemblies.

Highly Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
  • High-frequency RF matching and signal processing experience up to 8kW.
  • Manufacturing engineering or NPI experience.
  • Experience working with outsourced manufacturing partners and supply chains.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and predictive diagnostics.
