Job description
- Product Engineering: Utilize shop drawings created by drafters to engineer millwork products, ensuring they meet design specifications, functionality, and manufacturability standards.
- CNC Programming: Develop and generate programs for CNC routers.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Cabinet Vision, or Microvellum) is required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, drafters, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of engineered products into the production workflow.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes, demonstrating an open mind and a willingness to adapt and improve historical practices.
- Quality Assurance: Provide production staff with complete and well-thought-out engineering designs, ensuring all products meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any engineering issues that arise during the production process, maintaining clear and effective communication with all relevant departments.
Requirements
- Minimum of a 4-year degree in engineering, drafting, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience. or 6+ years of combined drafting/engineering experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with CAD drafting software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, etc.)
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings and/or engineering prints
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external clients.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision and accuracy in CAD drafting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
Desired:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Drafting and Design, Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of millwork fabrication processes.
- Experience with 3D software (Solidworks, Inventor, etc.), * Cabinet Vision: 3 years (Preferred)
- CAD Software: 4 years (Required)
- Commercial Millwork: 3 years (Required)
- Microvellum: 3 years (Required)
