Job description

Oak Technology is a small, successful IT company who are looking for a Support Technician to join their highly innovative, team providing technical support, IT, telecommunication and bespoke software solutions to customers.

We work primarily in the Funeral industry and support lots of small independent family businesses.

Particulars:

  • OFFICE BASED ROLE - Office hours are Mon-Fri 09:00 - 17:00 (with 1 hour for lunch)
  • Holiday 28 days (including public holidays). We also typically close between Christmas and New Year which are not deducted from holiday allowance.
  • Nest Workplace pension.
  • On-site parking is available and there are good bus and rail links.

Duties and Responsibilities: (All training will be provided)

  • Provide telephone support to customers.
  • Troubleshoot efficiently and take decisions to drive issues to resolution.
  • Provide support and training on our bespoke software solutions.
  • Design and build web sites and maintain related services (DNS, hosting etc).
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Working in various areas of networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wifi)

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in IT support?, * Communicate with and support colleagues, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner.

  • Demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines. including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management.
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • A passion for IT and Technology and a willingness to learn from experienced industry professionals.

  • Being Enthusiastic, Confident, Positive and Proactive is a must.

Training Provided:

On-the-job training will be provided in the areas of:

  • General IT support.
  • Customer relations.
  • Our bespoke software solutions.
  • Telephone systems (hardware, software and telecommunications).
  • Web site design/building (inc. domains, DNS and hosting).
  • Networking (primarily Draytek and Grandstream solutions).
  • Some industry recognised certifications are required. Training will be provided resulting in personal qualifications. Regular re-certification will be required as most qualifications every 24 months.

Having a full UK driving license and vehicle is essential as there will be some on-site work at client premises (occasionally with overnight stay).
