Job description

Avanade UK Limited, a leader in delivering innovative technology solutions within the banking and investment sector, is looking for an experienced MacOS Engineer to support a high-profile transformation programme for a leading financial institution.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in modernising and enhancing a large-scale Mac estate throughout 2025, improving device management, automation, operational efficiency, and the overall end-user experience.

We’re looking for a true Mac specialist who thrives in enterprise environments and can bring deep technical expertise across Mac engineering, automation, and modern endpoint management., * Design, implement, and optimise SaaS-based Mac management solutions

  • Automate Mac provisioning and build processes to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Manage software deployment, patching, and OS update strategies across the Mac estate
  • Develop and maintain advanced automation workflows to streamline operational processes
  • Create and manage scripts leveraging Jamf APIs and other automation tools
  • Improve the overall end-user experience through process enhancements and technical innovation
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure, engineering, and support teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for complex MacOS-related issues
  • Contribute to Mac platform governance, security, and best practice standards

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in MacOS engineering and enterprise device management
  • Jamf 300 certification minimum (Jamf 400 highly desirable)
  • Expert-level Bash scripting skills
  • Expert-level experience with Jamf API scripting
  • Strong understanding of SaaS-based Mac management solutions
  • Proven experience automating Mac deployment and build processes
  • Experience managing software distribution, updates, and patch management within large Mac environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience improving and optimising operational processes through automation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Skills

  • Platform SSO (PSSO) experience
  • Experience within regulated environments such as Banking, Financial Services, or Investment Management
  • Knowledge of Apple Enterprise Management best practices
  • Experience integrating Mac management solutions with identity and security platforms
  • A passion for automation and building scalable, self-service solutions

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an automation-focused MacOS Engineer who can quickly add value to a complex enterprise environment. We’re particularly interested in candidates who have built sophisticated Jamf solutions, automated workflows at scale, and can demonstrate a track record of improving both operational efficiency and user experience.
