MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with an established technology organisation as they seek to appoint a Frontend-Focused Full Stack Engineer to join their development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established software business whose platform is used by organisations across the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will work on a suite of public-facing eCommerce websites, helping to enhance existing applications while contributing to the development of new functionality and modern user experiences. This is a frontend-focused full stack position, ideal for an experienced C#/.NET developer who has a strong interest in modern web development and wants to spend a significant proportion of their time working with React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, while continuing to contribute across the backend. The Role As a Frontend-Focused Full Stack Engineer, you’ll work as part of a collaborative development team responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing a portfolio of customer-facing web applications. The role has a strong emphasis on frontend development and user experience, with React and modern JavaScript technologies forming an increasingly important part of the technology stack. You’ll also use your C#/.NET experience to develop APIs, backend functionality and integrations where required. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining multiple public-facing eCommerce websites using modern frontend technologies
- Building responsive user interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS, based on client and UI/UX specifications
- Developing reusable frontend components and contributing to the modernisation of existing web applications
- Developing and integrating REST APIs and backend functionality using C#/.NET
- Working with SQL Server and Entity Framework to support application functionality and data-driven features
- Applying SOLID principles, design patterns and best practices to produce clean, scalable and maintainable code
- Identifying and implementing improvements across existing systems, codebases and development processes

Collaborating closely with Development, QA and Project Management teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, You’ll have the opportunity to use your existing backend expertise while placing React, JavaScript and modern frontend development at the heart of your day-to-day work, contributing to reusable components, improved user experiences and the continued evolution of a globally used software platform. Interview Process
- Single-stage, in-person interview
- Short technical exercise covering JavaScript, SQL, C#, CSS and HTML
- Technical interview with senior engineering leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years’ commercial experience with C# and .NET
- Strong frontend skills across JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS
- Commercial React experience or strong modern JavaScript experience
- Experience building responsive, customer-facing web applications
- Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles and design patterns
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to write clean, reusable and scalable code
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
