Job description

This is a varied, hands-on role primarily focused on 1st and 2nd line support, Microsoft 365 and device management, but with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical experience across wider infrastructure and get involved in IT projects, system upgrades and new technology.

It’s an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in IT support who is looking for greater technical variety and the opportunity to progress their skills.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to staff and students
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Administering users, groups and devices across Active Directory, Entra ID and Intune
  • Configuring and deploying laptops, desktops, tablets and other IT equipment
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, network and Wi-Fi issues
  • Assisting with server and infrastructure administration
  • Supporting system maintenance, updates and patching
  • Contributing to IT projects, device deployments and system upgrades
  • Working with third-party suppliers to resolve technical issues
  • Identifying opportunities to improve IT systems and support services

Requirements

  • You’ll have previous experience providing IT support, with good practical knowledge of Windows devices, hardware, software and troubleshooting.
  • You’ll be confident dealing with users, able to manage multiple support requests and have a genuine interest in developing your technical knowledge.
  • Experience within a school would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
  • You’ll also need GCSEs in English and Mathematics, or equivalent, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.

Benefits & conditions

  • £28,906 - £33,136 salary
  • 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • 8.35% non-contributory pension
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Income Protection
  • Free three-course lunch
  • Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Enhanced Family Leave policies
  • Professional development opportunities

If you’re currently working in IT support and want a role that gives you the chance to expand your technical experience, work with a wider range of technologies and get involved in IT projects, we’d love to hear from you.
