Job description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Ada programming experience to support the development, testing, and maintenance of mission-critical aerospace software systems. This opportunity is ideal for engineers with a background in embedded systems, avionics, real-time software, and data bus integration. The selected candidate will work within an Agile development environment supporting software design, development, debugging, system integration, and sustainment efforts for aerospace applications. The team is particularly interested in engineers who have experience with ARINC 429/422 protocols, RTOS environments, and legacy or modern avionics software platforms. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain aerospace software applications Develop and document software architectures, requirements, interfaces, and algorithms Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects Support software integration activities and system-level testing Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and stakeholders Participate in Agile ceremonies and development planning Utilize DevOps tools to support software build and deployment processes Ensure software products meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM-related field Bachelor’s + 9 years, Master’s + 7 years, or PhD + 4 years of relevant software engineering experience 4+ years developing software architectures, interfaces, algorithms, and software designs Programming experience in Ada Experience throughout the software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance Strong communication and collaboration skills Strong background in Ada development (top priority) Embedded software development experience Experience with ARINC 429 or ARINC 422 communication protocols Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Agile and/or SAFe development environment experience Experience with: GitLab CI/CD Git Bash Jira Artifactory Experience supporting software integration and sustainment activities Aerospace, avionics, or defense industry experience
Benefits & conditions
Compensation: $90/hr to $99/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
