Job description
An employer is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist will provide hands-on technical support to employees, executives, and visitors within a fast-paced enterprise environment. This individual will serve as a frontline resource for resolving hardware, software, connectivity, and end-user technology issues while delivering exceptional customer service. Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting Windows and macOS devices, diagnosing Wi-Fi and network connectivity issues, resolving application-related incidents, and supporting monitors, docking stations, and conference room technology. The specialist will also manage device provisioning activities for new hires and departing employees, leveraging established knowledge base documentation and support processes. Additionally, they will utilize a ticketing system, preferably ServiceNow, to document, track, and resolve technical issues while ensuring timely communication and resolution for end users. Success in this role requires strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a customer-facing environment supporting both employees and executive leadership.
Requirements
4+ years of experience providing desktop support in an enterprise environment Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to support executives, end users, and visitors in a fast-paced, high-touch environment Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues across Windows and macOS systems Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, SSIDs, and Wi-Fi connectivity Experience utilizing a ticketing system to manage incidents and service requests Ability to troubleshoot laptops, monitors, docking stations, peripheral devices, and business applications Experience supporting user onboarding and offboarding activities, including device provisioning and account setup Experience diagnosing and resolving client-side technical issues in person Basic understanding of conference room and collaboration technologies Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple support requests in a high-volume environment ServiceNow experience Experience with device provisioning and lifecycle management processes Experience supporting and troubleshooting JAMF environments Experience supporting mobile devices, including iOS and Android platforms Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification CompTIA A+ certification
