Job description
The Senior Data Center BMS Engineer will provide technical oversight and quality assurance for Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) designs, integrations, and implementations across large-scale data center projects. This individual will be responsible for reviewing subcontractor deliverables, ensuring systems remain on track with project objectives, and proactively identifying and escalating risks that could impact schedule, commissioning, or operational readiness. The ideal candidate combines deep controls experience with a strong understanding of mission-critical environments and data center infrastructure.
Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities: * Review and perform QA/QC on BMS and EPMS designs, submittals, programming, and integration packages developed by subcontractors and system vendors. * Monitor project progress and system implementation activities, proactively identifying issues, risks, and schedule impacts while escalating concerns early and often. * Coordinate with commissioning teams, design engineers, contractors, and operations stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and functionality of controls systems. * Validate that BMS and EPMS solutions meet project specifications, operational requirements, and data center standards for reliability and performance. * Support system testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities by resolving technical issues and ensuring successful integration with critical facility infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting low-voltage controls, automation, or building systems within critical facility environments. * Large-scale data center experience with exposure to mission-critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure. * Hands-on experience with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, or related controls systems from design through commissioning. * Strong understanding of controls integration, system testing, troubleshooting, and QA/QC processes. * Proven ability to coordinate with multiple contractors, vendors, and stakeholders while managing technical risks and project deliverables. * Experience with Ignition, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, or similar controls platforms. * Data center commissioning experience with mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. * Strong background in electrical infrastructure, power monitoring systems, or mission-critical facility operations.
