AS400 Developer

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot applications on the AS400/IBM i platform.
• Develop and maintain programs using RPG, RPGLE, RPG IV, and Free-Format RPG.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, embedded SQL, and SQLRPGLE programs.
• Work extensively with DB2 for i databases, including tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
• • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application modifications, debugging, testing, and production support.
• Develop and maintain batch and interactive programs.
• Work with CL/CLLE programs, job scheduling, and batch processing.
• Identify and resolve application and database performance issues.
• Perform impact analysis and root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers.

Strong experience with AS400 / IBM i / iSeries.

• Strong hands-on experience with RPG/RPGLE.
• Experience with RPG IV / Free-Format RPG.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and SQLRPGLE.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 for i.
• Experience with CL/CLLE.
• Knowledge of IBM i development and debugging tools.
• Experience with batch jobs, job queues, and IBM i application processing.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
