Job description
- Design, develop, enhance and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL.
- Develop and maintain REXX scripts for automation and Mainframe utilities.
- Analyze requirements and perform impact analysis across COBOL programs, JCL, DB2 and CICS components.
- Develop and modify batch and online applications.
- Troubleshoot production issues, abends and data-related problems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries.
- Work with VSAM files and Mainframe datasets.
- Prepare and execute unit/SIT testing.
- Support UAT and production deployments.
- Coordinate with business analysts, QA and offshore/onshore teams.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Prepare technical documentation and support release activities.

Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on IBM Mainframe development experience
- Strong COBOL development experience
- Strong REXX scripting/development experience
- Strong JCL
- Strong DB2 / SQL
- Hands-on CICS
- Good knowledge of VSAM
- Experience with both Batch and Online applications
- Production support, debugging and abend handling
- Impact analysis, coding, unit testing and defect resolution
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodology
