Job description

A forward-thinking secondary academy in Reading is looking for an experienced IT Technician to join its technical support team.

The school relies heavily on technology across classrooms, administration and learning environments, meaning the successful candidate will be responsible for providing responsive technical support to both staff and pupils. The Role

You will provide first-line IT support across the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting computer and laptop issues.
  • Supporting teachers with classroom technology.
  • Setting up computers, laptops and other devices.
  • Supporting interactive screens and projectors.
  • Assisting staff with Microsoft 365 and user accounts.
  • Resolving printer and connectivity issues.
  • Managing IT support requests.
  • Maintaining records of school IT equipment.
  • Supporting software installations and updates.
  • Assisting with network troubleshooting.
  • Supporting online examinations and assessments.
  • Ensuring equipment is secure and appropriately maintained.

Requirements

Previous IT support experience within a school, academy or college is essential.

Candidates should understand the pace of an educational environment and be comfortable supporting users who may have varying levels of technical knowledge.
