Job description

You’ll take ownership of the Data & Analytics function, ensuring the organisation continues to build scalable, trusted and governed data products whilst supporting a growing automation estate of over 120 live automations.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance Operations and Technology, you’ll help shape the future direction of data, analytics, automation and AI across the organisation., * Lead the Data & Reporting and Automation functions.

  • Manage two direct reports alongside wider UK, offshore and outsourced teams.
  • Drive best practice across data engineering, reporting, testing, governance and quality assurance.
  • Lead the development and governance of semantic models to support self-service analytics.
  • Provide technical leadership across Databricks, SQL, Python and Power BI environments.
  • Ensure robust Power BI governance, security and reporting standards.
  • Support and oversee an established automation capability with 120+ live automations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for intelligent automation and AI adoption.
  • Contribute towards initiatives involving OCR, AI-driven automation and emerging agentic AI capabilities.
  • Act as the technical escalation point, challenging solutions and ensuring high standards across delivery.

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience leading Data, Analytics, BI or Reporting functions.
  • Strong experience with Databricks or another major enterprise-scale data platform such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric or Synapse.
  • Advanced SQL and Python capabilities.
  • Experience building or governing semantic models and self-service analytics environments.
  • Strong Power BI governance, security and reporting expertise.
  • Experience working with large-scale data environments and complex data models.
  • Exposure to automation, RPA or process automation initiatives.
  • Understanding of AI, GenAI, OCR, intelligent automation or data-led AI initiatives.
  • Experience managing technical teams and influencing senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain technically credible whilst providing leadership and direction.

About the company

This is a hands-on leadership role, managing two direct reports whilst providing oversight across wider UK, offshore and outsourced services. You’ll be responsible for driving best practice across data engineering, analytics, reporting governance, automation and emerging AI capabilities.
