Management Mentorship Fiber Optics Problem Solving Operating Expense Fiber Optic Cable Business Valuation Workflow Management Travel Arrangements Full Stack Development Data Center Operations Business Transformation Hardware Troubleshooting Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency, NTT is building a specialized ā€œTiger Teamā€ of experienced Level 2 Data Center Technicians to support Google’s nationwide Hi-Fiber Project. This initiative focuses on replacing legacy coaxial cabling infrastructure with fiber optic cabling across multiple Google data center locations.

The Tiger Team will be the first group deployed to new project sites, spending approximately 6-8 weeks establishing processes, procedures, and project standards to ensure successful execution. Once a site is operational and transitioned to long-term project teams, the Tiger Team will move to the next Google data center location.

During periods between travel assignments, technicians will be assigned to support Google data center operations within their home market.

This role requires experienced data center professionals who can contribute immediately with minimal supervision and possess strong troubleshooting capabilities., * Support Google’s Hi-Fiber infrastructure upgrade projects.

  • Remove and replace legacy coaxial cabling with fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Perform rack and stack activities for network and server equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and cabling-related issues.
  • Establish project workflows, procedures, and best practices at new project sites.
  • Collaborate with data center teams to ensure successful project deployment and execution.

Requirements

  • General Data Center Troubleshooting, * Previous experience working in hyperscale or enterprise data center environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians is a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with up to 75% nationwide travel.
  • Typical travel assignments are expected to last up to two weeks at a time before returning home.
  • All travel arrangements will be coordinated by NTT.
  • Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed by NTT.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel by airplane and/or vehicle without restrictions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel are required., The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Center Technician with a strong history in cabling, rack and stack installations, and hardware troubleshooting. They should be comfortable traveling nationwide, adapting to new environments quickly, and helping establish operational standards for large-scale data center infrastructure projects. Job Type & Location, Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
