Job description
Join a growing technology led bank as Head of IT Operations, taking ownership of service delivery, service transition, operational governance and change management across a complex technology estate.
This is not a pure infrastructure engineering or people-management role. As Head of IT Operations you’ll be a key operational SME, ensuring technology services are introduced, changed and managed safely, reliably and efficiently within a regulated banking environment.
The bank has an established Azure environment supporting and integrating multiple business systems, alongside an AWS platform operated by a recently integrated business that has historically worked with a more entrepreneurial and less formal approach to technology operations. A key priority will be bringing these environments together and introducing appropriate bank grade service management, governance and controls without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or slowing delivery.
You’ll own and improve service transition into production, operational readiness and handover, change management, incident and performance management, supplier governance and cloud operations across Azure and AWS. You’ll also help define the controls, processes and operating practices needed to support continued growth within a regulated financial services environment.

- You have experience in a similar IT Operations / Service Delivery / Service Transition role within a regulated environment, banking preferred but other financial services also fine
- You have strong Service Delivery and Change Management skills
- You have a strong technical knowledge of Azure
- You’re comfortable leading technical conversations and making the decisions
- You’re collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication and client facing skills
Benefits & conditions
