Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Cyber Security on a fixed-term basis until 31^st July 2027. The Cyber Security area is very well established in the School of Computing and Creative Technologies at UWE, Bristol. We are recognised by NCSC as a Gold Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education (ACE-CSE), a status that was recently renewed and are the lead partner on the Unlockcyber outreach project.

We offer a BSc in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, an NCSC accredited MSc in Cyber Security, and a provisionally NCSC accredited Integrated degree apprenticeship taught at our partner Gloucester College in Cheltenham.

We have recently benefited from a substantial investment in research capacity by the university, have a community of active PhD students and collaborate closely with Industry and Government.

About you

You will either have a PhD in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or else equivalent industry experience. Applications from experienced practitioners would always be welcomed.

Your expertise must be aligned with one or more of the CyBOK KAs, however we are particularly interested in enhancing our expertise within digital forensics.

The primary focus of this role will be teaching, and we will expect you to support teaching on our programmes, although you will be encouraged and supported in your research ambitions.

Where you will be working

In this role, you’ll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus where we’ve invested in state-of-the-art facilities designed to help both staff and students succeed.

You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 80 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
