Data Cabling Engineer

Are you an experienced Data Cabling Engineer looking for your next opportunity?, * Cable Installation: Install, route, and dress Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling systems in line with project specifications and industry standards.

• Termination & Testing: Terminate copper and fibre cabling, including patch panels and outlets, and carry out full test and certification using Fluke or equivalent equipment.
• Stakeholder & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, project engineers, and client representatives to ensure works are delivered on programme and to specification.
• Technical Oversight & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installed works, produce test certification documentation, and contribute to handover packs.
• Quality & Compliance: Adhere to ISO/IEC 11801, BS EN 50173, and relevant site health and safety regulations throughout all works.

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Data Cabling Engineer within the telecoms or structured cabling industry.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A copper cabling, fibre termination, and the use of cable testing and certification equipment such as Fluke DSX or Versiv.
• Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering structured cabling installations across commercial office, education, or enterprise environments.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, effective communication with site teams and clients, and a methodical approach to fault-finding and testing.
• Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.

Desirable:

• Certifications: CSCS card; manufacturer accreditations such as Systimax, Leviton, or Nexans; ECS card.
• Sector Background: Prior experience on data centre, critical infrastructure, or large-scale commercial fit-out projects.
