Job description

As BI Lead, you will take ownership of the organisation’s business intelligence and reporting capability during a key period of change. The role is heavily focused on Power BI, data modelling, stakeholder engagement, and the optimisation of existing reporting solutions., * Enhancing and maintaining existing Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions

  • Developing and supporting semantic models and data layers that underpin reporting
  • Translating business requirements into scalable reporting and data models
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and drive continuous improvement
  • Writing and optimising DAX and SQL to support reporting and analytics
  • Ensuring reporting outputs are accurate, reliable, and aligned with data governance standards
  • Supporting external-facing reporting products and self-service analytics capability
  • Contributing to Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, and roadmap activities
  • Maintaining documentation and promoting reporting best practice across the business
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects involving data products, AI-assisted analytics, and modern cloud data platforms.

Requirements

  • You will bring strong commercial experience in:
  • Power BI development across both front-end reporting and back-end modelling
  • Data modelling and semantic layer design
  • SQL for data querying and transformation
  • DAX development and performance optimisation
  • Stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering
  • Communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Designing scalable reporting solutions using best-practice methodologies such as Kimball, Star Schema, or Medallion Architecture
  • Azure DevOps or CI/CD processes
  • Azure Databricks
  • Databricks Genie or AI-assisted analytics tools
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Agile delivery environments and sprint-based working
