Job description

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to grow our IT/Tech Staffing business across California. The ideal candidate has a proven record of winning new staffing clients, developing long-term enterprise relationships, and partnering with recruiting teams to deliver high-quality technology talent. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients requiring IT and technology staffing solutions.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities across enterprise, mid-market, startup, and public-sector accounts.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, IT Directors, Procurement leaders, HR leaders, and hiring managers.
  • Sell contract staffing, contract-to-hire, permanent placement, project-based staffing, and managed staffing solutions.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand clients’ workforce plans, technical hiring needs, budget constraints, and vendor requirements.
  • Create and present tailored staffing proposals, capability presentations, rate cards, and service agreements.
  • Negotiate master service agreements, statements of work, vendor agreements, pricing, payment terms, and other commercial terms in collaboration with leadership.
  • Partner with recruiting and delivery teams to qualify job requirements, communicate client expectations, and ensure timely candidate submissions.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships after placement to drive consultant extensions, repeat business, referrals, and account growth.
  • Track sales activity, opportunities, forecasts, client meetings, and revenue performance in the CRM system.
  • Monitor California and national IT hiring trends, competitor activity, client demand, and emerging technology skill requirements.
  • Attend virtual and in-person networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings as needed.
  • Meet or exceed established targets for new business, revenue, gross margin, client acquisition, and account retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of business development, sales, account management, or client acquisition experience in IT staffing, technology recruiting, professional services, or workforce solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in generating new business and closing staffing or consulting deals.
  • Strong understanding of IT staffing models, including W-2 consulting, C2C, contract-to-hire, direct hire, and managed staffing services.
  • Experience selling technology talent solutions in areas such as software engineering, cloud, data, cybersecurity, ERP, DevOps, AI/ML, QA, product, infrastructure, or digital transformation.
  • Proven ability to engage senior-level stakeholders and build trusted client relationships.
  • Experience with CRM and sales-prospecting tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Bullhorn, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
