Job description

Join a dynamic, enterprise-scale API team at Prime, where your expertise will drive connectivity across mission-critical healthcare and pharmacy benefit management systems. As an API Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in cloud transformation, building and optimizing robust APIs that power internal platforms and partner integrations for industry leaders like Amazon. This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to shape the future of healthcare data exchange, with strong potential for long-term career growth., Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable APIs for enterprise applications and high-traffic partner websites.

  • Lead the integration of legacy systems (such as RXclaim and Magellan) and new platforms, ensuring seamless data flows across claims, member, and benefits systems.
  • Drive cloud transformation by migrating APIs from WS02 to Java microservices and modern API gateways (Kong), within a multi-cloud GCP/AWS environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams in Agile sprints-pulling, owning, and advancing development tickets through completion.
  • Ensure API performance, reliability, and compliance, leveraging monitoring tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics) and best practices for secure data handling.
  • Rotate through minimal on-call and release leadership duties, supporting overnight deployments approximately once every two months.
  • Contribute to team innovation by providing input on process improvements and big-picture solutions., High-impact projects supporting industry-leading clients and next-gen healthcare solutions.

Requirements

Proven API development expertise, preferably with WS02; strong Java microservices experience considered.

  • Deep understanding of SQL databases and data modeling.
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS valuable).
  • Solid communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.

[Preferred Skills]

  • Background in pharmacy benefit management (PBM) or pharma sector.
  • Experience with FHIR data standards and healthcare data regulations.
  • Familiarity with Kong API gateway and cloud-native API management.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics., Word
